Today, we’re talking about emojis. Low cost, fast implementation dramatically improve click-through rates.

Silly icons that draw the eye that will entice a better click-through rate.

Irrespective of where your video ranks or where your website ranks you can do better in terms of how many people click on that video. The way to do it is to include emojis, icons. You’re familiar with faces, lightning bolts, aliens, cats, dogs, notes, many different emojis exist.

One of the secrets to getting these to index in Google is to try and have the emoji be on topic.

This doesn’t exclusively mean that the emoji will index. You still have to optimize around Google with a little bit of know-how if you want it to be indexed. But all in all, adding emojis to your website now is something in all likelihood you probably haven’t done that can be effective in the near term.

Scott, how long is this going to take? Not long, not long at all. Your web developer won’t charge much. Your SEO guy won’t charge much. This is a small industry secret to getting much higher click-through rates.

You are riding the curve here folks. Even though this is actually two years old there are still a lot of sites that haven’t adopted it. So just be first and get the eye drawn to your listing irrespective of what position you may be and enjoy a higher click-through rate.

Do contact your SEO guy. I wouldn’t want you to implement this and send your ranking down. It’s also the job of the SEO guy to try and get these to show up in Google. As mentioned before, there is no guarantee that adding these to your listing will make Google display them. Google does so at its own discretion there are a few key influencing factors. So please do contact your SEO guy and get that intellectual property out of him and get that listing optimized because it is something that can be done tomorrow. It will be indexed the day after if done correctly.

Pro-tip, use Google Webmaster Tools to re-submit the website instead of waiting for Google to come back around and have a look. But please do get this on your website.
